I recently purchased this razor as an upgrade from my previous Braun shaver (360 Complete 8985) and the Pulsonic is a definite upgrade. I get a significantly closer shave and in far less time. One thing I will say, however, is that I’ve seen a few people/websites claim that they just need one pass with this razor when shaving – that isn’t the case for me, and I find that hard to believe with any electric razor. It does require multiple passes, but still far less than any electric I’ve ever used, and it irritates my skin far less. Some reviewers have cited the pop-up trimmer as being a bit awkward – I would agree to a certain extent, but I’ve still been able to use it to trim my sideburns fairly easily. Also, while the cost may scare away some, Braun electrics are very well made – I’ve owned Braun razors for 5+ years in some instances. If you keep this for a few years, and use the clean and renew less liberally than Braun wants you to (I use it once a week or so) this razor is far more cost effective than it would appear on the surface.
